Third Saturday of the Month Route – Out and Back to Pine Grove

Group Dynamics

These rides are not beginner’s rides. You will need to have a level of fitness and a bike that can ride for 1.5 to 2 hours up and down hills, and the cycling skills to match. These rides are also not sprints or races. The goal is to connect with other cyclists for fun, conversational rides throughout the year. Expect to stay together as a group at a steady but casual pace, promoting social connection while exploring the countryside. Anyone with the requisite skill level on a bike is welcome. The target age is Millennials, although there is no age verification to participate.

Who put this site together?

My name is Nick. I created this website to see if I could coordinate rides for cyclists my age in Bloomington. At 37, I have had a surprisingly difficult time finding a social ride for millennials. The group rides I have found are either competitive, off-road, or not around my age group. I have ridden thousands of miles around Monroe County over the years. Right now, I ride with a few friends in their early to mid-30s, and we look forward to having others join us. If your pace and skill level are a good fit, we welcome you. No one will be checking birthdays, so if you are younger or older and love to ride, that’s fine too. I want to meet more cyclists in town, so join us for the next ride.

Want to Ride More Often?

Me too! Email Nick at btowncyclists@gmail.com to plan rides throughout the month. I ride far more often than on just the third Saturday of the month, and I always welcome a good conversation and friends to join me. We can find time throughout the month to get some riders together.
